What Is a Prophet Really?
Lab Objective To help students distinguish between: prophetic gifting prophetic function prophetic office and understand the responsibility attached to prophetic ministry.
Activation 1:
Identity Audit Answer:
What do I believe a prophet is? Where did I get this understanding? Is my understanding based on Scripture or culture? What misconceptions have I held?
Activation 2:
Prophet Study Choose one: Moses Samuel Elijah Jeremiah Ezekiel John the Baptist Agabus Study: Calling Burden Message Opposition Relationship with God Write one page summarizing your findings.
Activation 3:
The Counsel of the Lord Read: Jeremiah 23:18 Ask: What does it mean to stand in God's counsel? How is this different from having opinions? Journal your insights.
Activation 4:
Representation Exercise Pray: "Lord, teach me to represent You accurately." Ask yourself: Do I speak too quickly? Do I exaggerate spiritual experiences? Do I seek attention or truth? Journal honestly.
Assignment Write a 2-page paper:
