Lesson Objective

To identify spiritual hindrances that affect hearing and seeing and to cultivate a tender, circumcised heart before God.

ACTIVATION 1 — Examine Your Hearing

Read:

Jeremiah 6:10

Acts 7:51

Answer:

  • What is an uncircumcised ear?

  • What causes spiritual deafness?

  • Why were people unable to hear God?

Journal your answers.

ACTIVATION 2 — Blind Spots Inventory

Ask yourself:

What may be affecting my perception?

☑ Offense

☑ Fear

☑ Traditions

☑ Bitterness

☑ Emotional wounds

☑ Self-will

☑ Busyness

☑ Unforgiveness

Circle the areas requiring surrender.

ACTIVATION 3 — Elisha's Prayer

Read:

2 Kings 6:15-17

Pray:

"Lord, open my eyes."

Journal:

  • Areas where you need discernment.

  • Situations where you need heaven's perspective.

ACTIVATION 4 — Samuel's Sensitivity

Study:

1 Samuel 3

Ask:

  • Why did Samuel hear God?

  • What posture did he have?

  • How can I develop that same sensitivity?

ACTIVATION 5 — Circumcision Prayer

Spend twenty minutes praying:

"Lord, circumcise my heart, ears, and eyes."

Record:

  • Scriptures

  • Convictions

  • Areas of resistance

  • What the Holy Spirit reveals

Closing Prophetic Thought

"God does not merely sharpen prophetic gifts. He circumcises hearts. For the clearest eyes are not found in the gifted, but in the broken. And the sharpest ears belong to those whose hearts have been softened by the dealings of God."
