Why You're Still Struggling

PROPHETIC LAB

Lab Objective

To identify areas of resistance to the Holy Spirit, understand the difference between surrender and control, and learn how yielding to God accelerates spiritual growth and prophetic maturity.

ACTIVATION 1 — The Areas of Resistance

Read:

Romans 12:1-2

Ask yourself:

Are there areas of my life I have not fully surrendered?

☐ My future

☐ My finances

☐ My relationships

☐ My ministry

☐ My reputation

☐ My comfort

☐ My schedule

☐ My ambitions

☐ My fears

☐ My wounds

Circle any areas where you struggle to trust God.

Journal your thoughts.

ACTIVATION 2 — The Lordship Test

Read:

Luke 22:42

"Not my will, but Yours be done."

Answer honestly:

  • What am I trying to control?

  • What outcome am I afraid to release?

  • What would yielding look like in this situation?

Write one page reflecting on your answers.

ACTIVATION 3 — Saul vs David

Study:

1 Samuel 15

Psalm 51

Compare:

Saul

  • Resisted correction

  • Protected his image

  • Excused disobedience

David

  • Repented

  • Submitted to correction

  • Yielded to God's dealings

Ask:

Which response resembles my life more closely?

Journal your observations.

ACTIVATION 4 — The Potter and the Clay

Read:

Jeremiah 18:1-6

Ask:

  • Am I allowing God to shape me?

  • What areas of my character is God working on?

  • Where do I resist His hand?

Write a prayer of surrender.

ACTIVATION 5 — Listening Prayer

Spend 20 minutes in quiet prayer.

Pray:

"Holy Spirit, reveal any area where I am resisting You."

Record:

  • Scriptures

  • Convictions

  • Impressions

  • Areas requiring surrender

ASSIGNMENT 1

Reflection Paper

"What Am I Still Holding On To?"

Write 2–3 pages discussing:

  • Areas where surrender is difficult

  • Reasons for resistance

  • How control has affected your growth

  • What yielding to God would look like practically

ASSIGNMENT 2

Bible Character Study

Choose one:

  • Jonah

  • Saul

  • David

  • Peter

  • Moses

Answer:

  • Where did they resist God?

  • What were the consequences?

  • How did yielding change their lives?

Write a one-page summary.

ASSIGNMENT 3

Seven-Day Surrender Challenge

For seven days:

Pray daily:

"Lord, I surrender my will to Yours."

Each day journal:

  • What God revealed

  • Areas of growth

  • Areas of resistance

  • Acts of obedience

ASSIGNMENT 4

Obedience Exercise

Ask the Lord:

"What is one thing You have already told me to do that I have delayed?"

Take one practical step toward obedience this week.

Document:

  • What action you took

  • What fears you faced

  • What God taught you

ASSIGNMENT 5

The Yielding Inventory

Rate yourself 1–10:

Trusting God

Obedience

Humility

Teachability

Repentance

Submission

Patience

Dependence on God

Identify your lowest score.

Create a plan to strengthen that area.

FINAL CHALLENGE

Many people want God's power.

Few want God's process.

Many want God's promises.

Few want God's pruning.

The struggle often continues because surrender has not yet happened.

The question is not:

"Why is God not moving?"

The deeper question is:

"Have I fully yielded?"

Because God can do more with a surrendered vessel than with a talented but resistant one.

The Holy Spirit flows most freely through yielded people.
