Spiritual Disciplines | School of the Prophets Level 2 – Episode 16
Every great prophet in Scripture had something in common.
They lived disciplined lives.
The anointing may come suddenly.
But spiritual maturity never does.
It is cultivated.
Developed.
Tested.
Strengthened.
One day at a time.
Many people admire the public ministry of prophets.
Few understand their private disciplines.
Before Moses stood before Pharaoh...
He spent forty years with God.
Before Elijah confronted Baal...
He learned to live in hidden places.
Before Daniel interpreted dreams...
He disciplined himself in prayer.
Before Jesus began His public ministry...
He fasted for forty days.
Power without discipline eventually destroys the vessel that carries it.
The Holy Spirit empowers us.
But spiritual disciplines position us.
Prayer does not earn God's love.
It deepens our communion.
Fasting does not manipulate God.
It weakens the flesh.
Meditation renews the mind.
Scripture anchors revelation.
Silence teaches us to hear.
Solitude teaches us to depend upon God.
Obedience transforms knowledge into character.
The prophetic life is not maintained by occasional encounters.
It is sustained through daily habits that keep the heart close to God.
Description
Every prophetic ministry is only as strong as the private life behind it.
The greatest prophets were not merely gifted.
They were disciplined.

FINAL CHALLENGE
Many people ask God for greater anointing.
God often responds by inviting them into greater discipline.
The difference between a flash of inspiration and a lifetime of impact is usually found in daily faithfulness.
Your private habits will determine your public ministry.
The prophet who prays when nobody is watching will have authority when everyone is watching.
Do not despise the ordinary disciplines.
They prepare you for extraordinary assignments.
Closing Prophetic Thought
"The anointing may open the door, but spiritual disciplines keep you in the room. God entrusts lasting authority to those who remain faithful in the secret place long after the excitement has faded."
