School of the Prophets – Episode 10: Watchman & Warning Ministry

The watchman.

The watchman stood on the walls of a city.

His responsibility was not to create danger.

His responsibility was to see danger before others saw it.

His assignment was not popularity.

His assignment was warning.

The watchman lived with a burden.

While others slept, he remained awake.

While others celebrated, he watched.

While others ignored danger, he scanned the horizon.

When danger approached, the watchman sounded the trumpet.

Some listened.

Some mocked.

Some ignored the warning.

But the watchman's responsibility was not controlling people's response.

His responsibility was faithfulness to the message.

The modern Church desperately needs watchmen.

Not alarmists.

Not fearmongers.

Not conspiracy theorists.

But men and women who stand in God's counsel and faithfully communicate what He is saying.

A true watchman speaks because he loves people.

A true watchman warns because he cares.

A true watchman understands that silence can be just as dangerous as error.

The watchman does not create the storm.

He simply sees it before others do.

Habakkuk 2:1

"I will stand my watch..."

1 Thessalonians 5:6

"Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober."

Memorize these verses throughout the week.

FINAL CHALLENGE

A watchman is not measured by popularity.

He is measured by faithfulness.

Many people want the platform.

Few want the wall.

Many want revelation.

Few want responsibility.

The question is not:

"Do I have a message?"

The deeper question is:

"Am I willing to faithfully steward what God shows me?"

Because the watchman is not responsible for the response.

The watchman is responsible for the warning.

And faithful watchmen remain on the wall even when nobody is listening.
